It's been a tough week really, Bryn has had a few more faint spells which have been unpleasant to see. They happen when he over exerts himself (which doesn't take a lot now). Yesterday he collapsed as he was about to get in the car, I held him in my arms and really thought he was dying there and then infront of my eyes. I felt so helpless. Rob was just round the corner and Carol was in the shop but I didn't call out for anyone, I just held him and watched wide eyed. luckily Bryn soon recovered so I think it was a faint, and probably only took several seconds but to me it felt like a lifetime.....
Today Bryn has wanted to join in a gentle game of ball with Trudy and Lucy but after a couple of little jollies his legs go to jelly so I had to stop him and make him watch, or just throw the ball to him so he doesn't have to scrabble up. He doesn't seem to bother a lot about these occasional interuptions to his movement, just seems a bit confused about why his legs wont work when he wants to run. Bless him. Despite all this he is happy, squeals with excitement when it's time to go anywhere and happily curls up on the front seat of the van. He still likes to guard the shop and if I have missed someone coming in the door he will soon let me know they are there!
Bedtime is a bit awkward as he wants to come upstairs and sleep by my bed but getting up the stairs takes a lot of puff out of him but he manages ok, then looks at me at the top of the stairs as if to say 'right, that's me sorted for the night'. he hasn't been able to get on my bed for weeks and possibly months now. However yesterday I woke with a banging migraine and couldn't move from my bed. Somehow he managed to claw his way on to my bed and wouldn't leave my side. he lay right alongside me and nudged me occassionally to check I was alright. I have no idea how he managed to get on the bed by himself and Rob said he didn't put him there.
