Bryn has bounced back quite dramatically today and has been very active and bossy with our friends little JRT's staying for the week. he has been quite playful and is much more alert than he has been. The new antibiotics must be doing their job! I am so pleased to see the little fella looking more with it and not sleeping all day. the door has been open to the garden all day and he's been in and out like a yoyo poking his nose in to all sorts of things he shouldn't!

It's been a very difficult and worrying time over recent weeks with bryn being so ill. However he has amazed us all again with his zest for life and positive 'get on with it' attitude. Rob and I have been patting his chest helping to bring up the fluid and it seems that things are starting to improve slightly again, Bryn's temperature has come back to normal and he has been alert and playing today. He's still been a bit out of puff but I think he will take a while to get over this lot. Lot's of positive thoughts and prayers for him have, I am sure helped him 10 fold.

I had to go to Cardiff this morning but really hated leaving Bryn behind. Rob was calling in to check him until I could get back at lunchtime, I was so worried about him as he had me up in the night a couple of times nudging me for a fuss, almost for reassurance.

by the time I returned lunchtime bryns temperature had quite obviously gone up yet again and he was boiling hot. Another dash to our vets did indeed reveal a higher temperature. however our vet was amazed to hear that the infection seems to have 'broken' and the chest was sounded clearer despite outward signs. She gave him a jab to bring his temperature down and again all we can do is wait and see. this evening he is obviously a LOT cooler and a bit more with it (he's been sleeping for days) so we are still hopeful he can beat this hiccup.

Bryn has been very sick with the lung infection that has been bothering him so I got him in to our vet lunchtime. He has a high temperature and it would seem the antibiotics are not effective any more. Our vet has changed to a new group of antibiotics and all we can really do is wait to see the outcome. Poor chap was so out of puff he could hardly climb the stairs for bed....

Bryn has been really poorly again, his lung infection flaring up again after I dropped his antibiotics back down. He was wizzed in to the vet yesterday for another jab and increased antibiotics again for a further 10 days. Apparently his chest isn't as bad as last time so it seems like the antibiotics just didn't quite finish off the bug, so fingers crossed it will sort it this time. Yesterday he was quite low and coughing a lot but today he's been in bed with me all day and only coughed a couple of times.

The past 10 days has been a very distressing time for us. Bryn went down with a lung infection and was struggling for breath, coughing and with a slight temperature. He was so very poorly I went to pieces worrying that he was going to die.

Our vet has been very good, everyone there knows Bryn and he always gets a fuss and nothing is ever too much trouble. bryn has had 10 days of increased antibiotics and appears to be over the infection although he is still a bit out of puff and pretty grumpy at times with the other dogs. I think it's mainly due to tiredness that he just can't be bothered with any fuss, although he did have a little run around with a dog toy this afternoon inviting the others to play chase. His colouring is so very pale and he can't run around as he should do, he seems to have adapted to his limits and just gets on with things as best as he can.

Tonight he is rolled up in his bed snoozing away, the other dogs have not climbed in the bed with him tonight, i think one by one they have been 'told off' today so have decided to give him a wide berth!

Bryn has been enjoying good health and energy and had a great holiday last week. Sadly he has gone down hill a lot over the last few days and was very poorly last night. I had to keep checking him in the night to see if he was breathing. I'm waiting to see the vet now and to find out if they can do anything to give him a boost. The reality of the situation hit home last night and I haven't been able to stop crying my eyes out as I am so scared of losing him and I'm just not ready to give up yet....
