This week has been absolutely scorching hot and quite humid a few days making it quite weary for the dogs. bryn isn't keen on the heat and gets tired very quickly. He likes nothing more than to say hello to the kittens and spends his time trotting round to the stable looking for them. he is only allowed small bursts with them as he gets puffed out too fast.

Bryn has been off his food the last few days which is a bit of a worry as he feels quite thin now he has so much muscle loss, although i suppose he's not really too thin but I don't want him loosing any weight if I can help it. He has been having sardines or mackrel every day, seaweed and an immune booster as well as his antibitic. He is always keen to snaffle Trudys JWB food so I bought a bag for him today as it's better to get nutrition in to him any which way. Well tonight he scoffed it all up quickly licking the bowl afterwards so hopefully he will continue to eat plenty.

he did get too hot this afternoon and went a bit wobbly falling out of the landrover (quite high) I felt awful, I tried to steady him and he lost his balance landing on his face with a thud on the concrete. I could of wept it was horrible. He seemed a bit dazed afterwards but is ok now but a rather angry bruise is creeping across his muzzle, poor bugger as if he hasn't enough things to cope with.

On a more positive note, he has met and made friends with the 2 new horses at the yard, having a good sniff at their muzzles and getting a hairy lip across the ear!

Not a lot to report this week. Bryn is much the same as he has been, his colour is very pale and I have to stop him twitching over the kittens now because he gets so excited and looses his co-ordination, I assume through lack of oxygen, then he just falls over amidst flayling limbs and can't get up again. I think he may have a little more strength again though as he has managed to climb on to our bed for a few nights (for a while now he could only get front legs up).

The weather has been very hot for a few days and he finds that rather tiring (don't we all!) but apart from that he has a good appetite and still finds time to terrorise stangers that dare walk past the car! Oh and he likes to keep his paw in at duffing up Dizzy and Rat!! Pinning them down and roaring in their earholes till they squeal! (it's all noise but sounds really nasty!!)

I have started adding a seaweed supplement plus an immune booster from Global Herbs this week, I don't know if it will help but there's nothing to loose.

Bryn has been busy tottering about his business all week and seems quite bright and interested in everything. he does get very puffed out if left to twitch over the kittens though! He has a bigger bed in my office now as trudy keeps muscling in and nicking his, leaving him to get in hers with his legs all hanging out the side.

Not much to report today, not much change over the last few days. bryn has been on the steal today for food! Lunchtime I put my soup down to answer the door and when I came back the soup had vanished and Bryn was wiggling and licking his lips at the same time.

Tonight we ate dinner and again I left the room for a few moments returning to a sparkling plate!

me thinks the combination of carrot soup and chilli con carne could be the recipe for a windy night ahead!

Tottering About enjoying the sunshine

As you know, I have been very worried about Bryn this week, wearing my heart on my sleeve always wary that this day may be his last. However, today the little fella is enjoying the long awaited sunshine and has been tottering about his business. Bless him. Keep praying for him, he needs all the help he can get right now.

A little stroll in the paddock

I have noticed Bryn getting weaker almost by the day so this afternoon took him in the paddock for a bit of a photo shoot while I still have the opportunity. I took all the photo's with tears streaming down my face, I suppose it's like 'creating memories' for when the time comes to say goodbye, it's heartbreaking.

Bath Time for the little stinker

Our vet saw Bryn yesterday morning and is pleased that his chest now sounds clear so it looks like the change of antibiotics has done the trick, it's now back down to a maintenence dose. he still has some problems with temperature going up and down a bit which could be a virus or something still present, we are controlling this with metacam and hopefully it will soon clear.

bryn is visibly weaker than he was and finds it harder to climb the stairs or jump on the bed! but he's had mostly rest for a few weeks now so needs to have time to gain some muscle and stamina

Today Bryn had a bath on account he's a bit of a stinker! despite reservations about how he would react (I was thinking teeth out) he was very well behaved and seemed to enjoy the hot water and attention. he's all wrapped up in his coolex coat to draw the remainder of the water off as he is terrified of hairdriers and would run a mile even before it's switched on!

Bryn has a new hobby of 'kitten herding' with the 2 kitties at the farm, he is so animated when he locks on them and stylish too, what a shame I'll never be able to develop his working skills with sheep......but to be able to still have him here with us is the greatest gift we thought we would never see, so let's keep everything crossed the little fella will continue to have a zest for life and an unbreakable spirit.
